On a MOBILE DEVICE, managing save data and save files works a bit differently.
In order to EXPORT and IMPORT save data from save file slots, you must perform a few actions.
Let's go over what this will look like.
First, you must know that MOBILE DEVICE save file management will require some basic knowledge of your MOBILE DEVICE file system.
Within your MOBILE DEVICE, you must navigate to your FILE BROWSER. This may look like an application called FILES.
If you do not know how to access your local MOBILE DEVICE file browser, please go ahead and look up a guide before proceeding.
Ready? Okay, let's continue.
You will first need to create a save by opening the MAIN MENU.
After making a save, the first step is to two-finger tap on your screen to open the Supplemental Menu.
It should look like this.
Then, press the EXPORT SAVES option.
Are you ready to continue?
Let's proceed then.
The second step is to open your MOBILE DEVICE file browser and navigate to the DOWNLOAD folder.
Inside the DOWNLOAD folder, there should be a folder called JJC_SAVES.
Opening that folder will show the exported save data.
Here is an example of what that should look like.
On the left, there is an example of the save data file, called "FILE1.RPGSAVE".
In the middle, there is a second save slot file called "FILE2.RPGSAVE".
On the right, there is a file called "GLOBAL.RPGSAVE". This file is important, it tracks which save slots are used.
Since up to three total save files can be created, there may also be a third save file called "FILE3.RPGSAVE".
Each time you use the EXPORT SAVES option from the Supplemental Menu, new files will be added to the JJC_SAVES folder.
Here is an example of what exporting new save data may look like with existing save data exports already in the JJC_SAVES folder.
On the left, we can see the NEW exported save data file, "FILE1(1).RPGSAVE".
However, there is also the save file from before that uses the same save file slot, called FILE1.RPGSAVE.
The game cannot recognize this new file,"FILE1(1).RPGSAVE".
The name of the file with the added "(1)" makes it unreadable.
In order to use this new save file, we must rename it first.
So, the third step is to delete the older FILE 1 save data. Or, you may move it to another folder outside of JJC_SAVES.
To delete the old save file, press and hold the file to select, "FILE1.RPGSAVE".
Then, tap the trash bin icon to delete it.
Now that the old save file is removed, select the new save file, "FILE1(1).RPGSAVE".
Step four is to rename the file so it can be read.
Tap the 3 dots in the upper right and select, "RENAME".
Rename the save file to, "FILE1.RPGSAVE" by removing the "(1)" number one and the parentheses.
Be sure there are no spaces between "FILE" and whichever number save file you are renaming: 1, 2, or 3. It should look like this: FILE#.RPGSAVE
Be careful not to change the file extension from .RPGSAVE.
After saving the new name, it should look like this.
Because save exporting always exports both the save files (the FILE#.RPGSAVE files) and the global file (GLOBAL.RPGSAVE), it is most likely the global file will also have a (#).
You must remove the added "(#)" number and the parentheses in order for the GLOBAL.RPGSAVE file to work as well.
To confirm, the first two lines are what the files should look like.
The last two lines are the unreadable files that must be renamed to be used.
Because of this system, save files cannot be merged.
Please export your saves and make backups accordingly.
If you first launch your game and the "Continue" button remains grayed out even though you have both FILE#.RPGSAVE and GLOBAL.RPGSAVE files in JJC_SAVES, please exit and relaunch the game.
This concludes the MOBILE DEVICE save file export and import instructions.
