Press Policy and Licensing Terms | SHARP SET LLC

Thank you for your interest in SHARP SET LLC and our games, tools, and creative media. This Press Policy outlines the terms and conditions for using our promotional materials, assets, and intellectual property in any form of media coverage, commentary, or editorial use. 

Applicability 

This Press Policy applies to any individual, organization, or entity (“You”, “Your”, "Authorized User", or “Recipient”) who receives or accesses SHARP SET LLC ("SHARP SET", "us", "we", "our") press materials, press keys, or assets; or who publishes, produces, or distributes editorial, commentary, or media content relating to SHARP SET LLC or its products. By requesting, receiving, or using any SHARP SET LLC properties, press kits, review copies, promotional assets, or related materials, You agree to abide by the terms of this Press Policy and Licensing Terms. You are bound by our Press Policy terms whether the material / our properties used by You or Your organization are accessed through our official press kit or another source that features or offers access to our properties, such as our website or a third-party website. If You represent a company or organization, these terms also apply to your employer, employees, and affiliated entities. 

Usage Terms & Press License

Your access to and permitted use of our properties is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revokable. 

Press Kit links, content, URLs, download folders and files, images and artwork, music, press copies (of video games/products) and press copy keys and URLs are confidential and privileged. You may not share, transmit, upload, or otherwise make public any of this content with any third party. Your use of this content is restricted to press / commentary and other permitted use under fair use law. Any sharing or transmission of this content must be conducted internally and securely. Copies of media (logos, images, artwork, etcetera) are permitted so long as they remain internal and are not made publicly available to third parties. Use, storage, transmission, and copies of any of our intellectual property for personal use is prohibited. 

Permitted Use 

You may use the following types of assets provided in official SHARP SET press kits or published on our website/social media strictly for editorial and commentary purposes relating to SHARP SET’s games and creative works: 

• Logos and branding materials 

• Key art and promotional illustrations 

• Screenshots and gameplay footage 

• Trailers and promotional video clips 

• Taglines, titles, character names, and other in-world elements 

These assets may be used in contexts such as: 

• News articles and blog posts 

• Previews, reviews, and retrospectives 

• Videos, livestreams, or podcasts 

• Social media or influencer coverage 

• Academic or industry analysis (with attribution) 

Attribution Requirements 

All use of our copyrighted materials must include clear attribution. For example: © SHARP SET LLC. All rights reserved. 

If the content references a specific SHARP SET title, please also include the game title’s trademark or stylized form if applicable. 

When possible, we ask that your coverage may include a link to our official sites or storefronts. Links to storefronts are provided below.

Prohibited Uses 

The following uses are not permitted without prior written consent from SHARP SET LLC: 

• Commercial resale or repackaging of our artwork, branding, or creative content 

• Uploading, mirroring, or redistributing our games, trailers, or soundtracks as standalone files 

• Altering or editing our logos, trademarks, or promotional art 

• Using our IP in connection with harassing, hateful, or threatening content 

• Creating content that falsely implies endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership 

• Using SHARP SET materials in generative AI datasets or remix tools 

You may monetize original editorial or commentary content (e.g., review videos, written analysis, or gameplay footage) that uses our assets, so long as your use complies with this policy and applicable laws, such as copyright and intellectual propery law. 

You may not monetize SHARP SET’s raw media — such as uploading trailers, soundtracks, or art by themselves — without express, prior written permission from SHARP SET. 

Game Access and Duplication 

Review copies of our games (including executables, APKs, or other game files) are provided strictly for individual editorial and commentary use. Recipients may not copy, distribute, mirror, or share the game files with others inside or outside their organization without prior written permission from SHARP SET LLC. 

If additional staff members require access, please contact us directly to request additional press copy keys. Each press copy is licensed only for the person to whom it was provided and may not be shared, uploaded, or copied.

Press Copy Access Keys 

Authorized Users (those with permission from SHARP SET to claim press copy keys of our video games) will need an itch.io account in order to claim press key copies of games. Authorized Users cannot use a personal itch.io account to claim press key copies, which includes accounts made with a personal email address. If an Authorized User uses a personal email address for their itch.io account and does not have a separate email address to create a new account with, authorization will not be granted or will be revoked. Authorized Users may choose to create a new email address in order to create a nonpersonal itch.io account to gain access to press copies.  

If an Authorized User is not part of a company or organization, does not have a DBA title, a user handle or username, or any other title other than their first and last name, they must create a new, separate account under their legal name to claim the press key with that is explicitly for business / editorial / commentary related use only. Authorized Users may alternatively elect to create a DBA or a handle/username at this time and create the account under such a title if desired. The account name must be distinct from any existing personal itch.io account names an Authorized User may have. 

Under no circumstances may any personal itch.io account claim or utilize press copy keys for any SHARP SET video game. Access to press copies will be immediately revoked under such circumstances.  

Personal accounts are, as considered by us, to be any account that is used for non-business-related / recreational use, and/or that are made with personal, non-business-related email addresses. 

Being referred to as an Authorized User(s) does not grant any permissions other than permissions explicitly given and in writing by SHARP SET LLC. Permissions for Authorized Users may be changed or revoked at any time at our discretion.  

Editorial Independence 

SHARP SET supports editorial freedom and fair use. This policy does not limit your opinions or coverage. However, misuse of our copyrighted material or violations of these terms or applicable intellectual property laws may result in the revocation of press access, including denial of press keys or removal of permission to use our assets. 

Translation & Localization 

If you plan to publish content in a language other than English, we kindly ask that you notify us beforehand. This allows us to: 

• Confirm brand and title accuracy across languages 

• Provide localization assistance if available 

You do not have permission to alter or edit any text that appears within our logos, artwork, or visual materials for translation purposes. You may add subtitles, captions, or descriptive text alongside such assets, but the original embedded text must remain unchanged.
